After the 3 days, dieters are advised to go back to eating normally but not to overeat.

3 DAY DIET
  • Breakfast: 5 saltines, 1 oz. low-fat cheese, 1 apple, coffee or tea with artificial sweetener
  • Lunch: 1 boiled egg, 1 slice dry toast, coffee or tea with artificial sweetener
  • Supper: 1 cup each water-packed tuna, carrots, cauliflower, and melon, 1/2 cup low-fat vanilla ice cream
Other rules include drinking at least 4 glasses of water or diet drink each day, and no fat may be consumed. According to the instructions, the diet should be followed for only 3 days, followed by at least four days of normal eating.

HOLLYWOOD DIET
The Hollywood Diet is quite simple: stop eating for 48 hours and get all of your body's nutritive needs from a juice drink. You can have water, but no caffeine, no alcohol, no food, and no smoking. You combine 4 ounces of water with 4 ounces of the juice and sip it slowly over the course of 4 hours. You do this four times a day for two days, following each 4 ounces of the diluted juice drink with 8 ounces of water. Your total intake for the day, then, is 16 ounces of the juice concentrate, plus about 80 ounces of water (the 16 ounces mixed with the concentrate, plus 8 ounces to follow each of the eight 4-ounce servings of the diluted juice).
The official, bottled version of the diet concentrate contains:
  • Water
  • Fructose
  • Pineapple juice
  • Orange juice
  • Apple juice
  • Prune juice
  • White grape juice
  • Lemon juice
  • Bilberry extract
  • Green tea extract
  • Ginkgo biloba extract
  • Grapeseed extract

GRAPEFRUIT DIET

For the most part, suggested meal plans include meats, vegetables and eggs with a total of approximately 800 calories per day. No exercise is required.
